National Infusion Center Association Announces the Appointment of Two New Board Members
Kaitey Morgan and Charles Schadewald join national non-profit advocacy organization to expand infusion patients’ access to life-saving treatments.
AUSTIN, Texas, 13 Jun 2019– This month, the National Infusion Center Association (NICA) welcomed Kaitey Morgan, RN, BSN, CRNI and Charles “Charlie” Schadewald as the newest members of its board. Prior to their appointment as board members, Kaitey and Charlie both served as members of NICA’s Advisory Committee. The NICA Advisory Committee is comprised of senior leadership members at some of the largest and most successful infusion centers across the country who volunteer their time and expertise to preserve, optimize, and expand access to the in-office infusion delivery channel.
“I am really excited to see what Charlie’s entrepreneurial background and expertise in technology, paired with Kaitey’s clinical background and patient care experience bring to NICA,” says Brian Nyquist, MPH, executive director of NICA. “As two leaders in the in-office infusion space, NICA will benefit from the unique perspectives they offer and the enthusiasm they bring, not just to the organization, but to the infusion industry.”
Kaitey Morgan is a registered nurse and the director of clinical operations for OI Infusion Services, an infusion management company that partners with healthcare facilities and physicians to provide infusion therapy services in their offices.
“Over the last few years, I have admired NICA’s efforts to expand and protect patient access to the infusion delivery channel,” says Morgan. “I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work closely alongside the NICA team to ensure patients continue to receive affordable, high-quality care when they need it.”
Charlie Schadewald is the CEO of Wasatch Infusion, a non-specialty ambulatory infusion center, with two locations in Salt Lake City and Tooele, UT that serves over 1,200 patients per month.
“It is my honor to serve as a member of the NICA Board of Directors and to continue to advocate for low-cost, high-availability infusion services in American Healthcare,” says Schadewald. “As the leading group for office-based infusion centers, NICA has proven their commitment to the increased awareness and accessibility for manufacturers, physicians, patients, and payors.”
Kaitey and Charlie join NICA’s current board members, Amy Arrendondo, RN, Bryan Johnson, and Reece Norris, JD, who founded the non-profit in 2010.
The National Infusion Center Association (NICA) is a national, nonprofit organization founded to improve patient access to in-office infusion. Since its inception in 2010, NICA has worked to support infusion patients and their office-based care settings through advocacy, education and resource development.
